The Summit

Venturing Summit - August 13-15, 2010

The Venturing Summit is the end-of-the-Summer activity for all Venturers, Sea Scouts and your friends who are thinking about joining the program.
 
Make it a full weekend, just a day, or a night and a day activity.  Camp if you want or just enjoy a long summer day.  Located near Navasota, Texas at Bovay Scout Ranch, the Venturing Summit offers you the chance to relax, do as much, or as little as you want, visit with old friends and make new friends, enjoy meals prepared for you, and of course, engage in a lot of fun activities.
 
There will be a full slate of aquatic activities – small boat sailing and rowing, the swimming pool, and more.  Just outside the air-conditioned dining hall will be field sports like kick-ball and volleyball, an archery range, and tomahawk and knife throwing also!   If you are interested in a leadership position in the Venturing Officers Association then the Summit is the place for your campaigning with elections on Saturday.  And remember, we kick-off Friday night with the “Dive in Movie” at the pool and by popular request – the pool will be open on Saturday night. 
 
Saturday evening is a very special time.  There is the annual awards banquet where your peers and leadership will be presented with recognition for their work in the Venturing and Sea Scout programs.  At the banquet the new Venturing Officer’s Association leadership will be announced.
