Rough Riders
Rough Riders is the NEW High Adventure experience designed especially for Scouts at El Rancho Cima’s Hamman High Adventure Base at Ironwheel Mesa overlooking the scenic Blanco River.  This premiere campsite located on the Devil’s Backbone is committed to our senior Scouts who will experience a breath taking ride down a 1000’ zip line, in preparation for a 2000’ zip line that is guaranteed to start your heart and take your breath away. Discover how to saddle and bridle your own horse on an overnight horseback trek in the outback of El Rancho Cima. Experience the thrill of a lifetime whitewater adventure through the rapids and chutes on the mighty Guadalupe River. Learn the saga of our early heritage at the dugout in Apache Springs during an overnighter. Encounter unique rappelling and ascending on a real rock cliff and much more. Annual Summit
The Venturing Summit is the end-of-the-Summer activity for all Venturers, Sea Scouts and your friends who are thinking about joining the program. If you are interested in a leadership position in the Venturing Officers Association then the Summit is the place for your campaigning with elections on Saturday.  Elections will be held on Saturday for the offices of Council Venturing President, Vice-President of Program, and Vice-President of Administration.  We will follow the procedures outlined in the VOA By-Laws.  Be sure you bring your VOA nomination form (signed by your Crew / Ship Advisor). NYLT (National Youth Leadership Training)

-NYLT-12-1 & 12-2: June 3-8, 2012 (Sunday-Friday) Register Now

-NYLT-12-3 & 12-4: June 11-16, 2012 (Monday-Saturday) Register Now

-NYLT-12-5: December 26-31, 2012 (Wednesday-Monday) Register Now

Youth staff for NYLT courses are selected by the Course Directors for specific courses. Selection is made from a pool of candidates. There are two ways Scouts enter the staffing pool: 1) as a result of the recommendation of the staff when the Scout participated in NYLT or 2) as a result of the Scout applying. The second method involves a personal interview.
